Long Forgotten Tools and Other Obsolete Objects
This exhibit explores Shaker and Early American tools and equipment used by farmers, woodworkers, blacksmiths, and other laborers as northeast Ohio was transformed from wilderness to agrarian society.

Ever wonder what motivates a passionate collector or how they got started? Meet three local collectors, learn why they do what they do, and see examples from their treasure troves. Topics will include contemporary art, prints, and books.

A Dramatic Dialogue

Offering a bit of original historical, dramatic fiction, The Shaker Historical Society and The Dunham Tavern Museum are partnering on this special program exploring the differences between life in a rural, communal, Shaker village and life in an urban tavern. The audience will experience a fictitious conversation that takes place in 1855 and includes Elder James Prescott (1803-1888), a leading Shaker at North Union village, and Rufus Dunham, owner of Dunham Tavern.
